Taking communion is not something that must be done within the confines of a church building and be orchestrated by a Pastor or Priest.
You can break bread anywhere there is bread to break.
The scripture says, “You are a royal priesthood.”
1 Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Every Christian is a Priest.
Every Christian is concentrated to Christ. We are a called and set apart people.
Romans 8:28-30 GNT
We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose. Those whom God had already chosen he also set apart to become like his Son, so that the Son would be the first among many believers. And so those whom God set apart, he called; and those he called, he put right with himself, and he shared his glory with them.
Every Christian is authorised to break bread. You don’t have to be a minister or Pastor to break bread.
When Jesus said, “do this in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11: 24 – 25 ) he was talking to all of us.
He didn’t say only Pastors can do it. He didn’t say only Evangelists can do it. He didn’t save only Prophets can do it. He didn’t say only the disciples who sat at the table with him that day could do it. It was for all of us. We can all do it and we should do it. We have all been authorised to do it.
You can break bread in your home with your family.
In the same way, when members of The Family Of God Church gather together in our meeting places we can also break bread. We can also have Communion.
A Pastor doesn’t need to be present. A Prophet does not need to be present. A Bishop doesn’t need to be present. All that is required is for a Christian to be present.
When you gather to have fellowship; break the bread: doing it in remembrance of Jesus.
Pray over the bread and wine or fruit juice knowing that it represents the body of our Lord which is the word of God.
What you are doing is symbolic.
You are partaking of the word of God.
That is all that’s required.
Keep in mind that in The Family Of God Church it is preferred that there is communion taken at every single meeting. As long as it is possible to do so there should be the breaking of bread.
It is very important to do so.
It is our culture as a fellowship.
